The three-year-old filly Duet MF (Don Principe-EM Rotina/Rotspon), owned by Maryanna Haymon of Marydell Farm, Columbus, N.C., was very successful in 2011. She was named the winner of the 2011 USDF “Traveling Trot” Perpetual Trophy as the highest-scoring horse for all breeds, genders and ages. Her high score of the year was an 86.7%. Duet MF also won her class at Dressage at Devon and was third in the Filly Championship. In addition, Duet MF was awarded Reserve High Score “Born in the USA” at Devon.In 2011, Duet MF also earned the title of Grand Champion twice – once at Dressage at Lexington with over 100 entries in the show. She repeated this achievement two weeks later at the Raleigh Dressage Breed Show I, and was named Reserve Grand Champion at the Raleigh Dressage Breed Show II. Duet MF finished 2011 as Champion in the Older Fillies division for the AHS Sport Horse Breeding Year-End Awards.
This year, Marydell Farm has been recognized by the USEF as the Champion Breeder of Sport Horse Breeding. This is the second time they have been awarded this title (the first being in 2007). Marydell Farm also garnered Champion Owner of 2011 by the USEF for Sport Horse Breeding.
