Perpetual Trophies

In addition to the extensive AHS Awards Program which rewards Hanoverians competing in sport each year, a number of Perpetual Trophies have been established over the years to honor specific achievements or performances.

Details, criteria and a list of past winners may be found on the individual page for each award.

The Bari von Buedingen Memorial Trophy

Awarded annually to the highest scoring Hanoverian mare on the AHS annual inspection tour.

The Engler-Friedlaender Memorial Trophy

Awarded annually to the Hanoverian mare with the highest Mare Performance Test (MPT) score.

The Benchmark Perpetual Trophy

Awarded annually to the mare with the highest MPT jumping score.

The Dr. Hartwig Prize

Awarded annually to best North American-bred Young Hanoverian Mare.

Dressage at Devon Perpetual Trophy

Awarded annually to the highest placing eligible Hanoverian horse in the open breed classes at Dressage at Devon.

The EQ|quest FEI Tests Perpetual Trophy

Awarded annually to the 4-, 5- and 6-Year-Old Hanoverian FEI Tests winners.

The Lucchetti Ranch and KEFA Performance Horses Materiale Awards

Awarded annually to young horses who are competing in Materiale classes in dressage and sport horse breed shows.

West Coast Sporthorse Classic Perpetual Trophy

This trophy is an identical companion piece to the one awarded at Devon. With the demise of the WCSC following the 2001 show the trophy was returned to AHS’s central office in Lexington, Ky., where it is displayed in the Hermann Friedleander Library.
