Congratulations to all!
The AHS is pleased to announce our Hunter and Jumper winners for 2007. See the lists below for our many winners. We congratulate them for all their hard work and success in showing in 2007.
As the Awards Committee was working through these lists, we noted a few things that we would like to point out to the members who show in these divisions: By AHS guidelines, the horses showing in Hunter and Jumper divisions must be recorded with USEF – either with a lifetime registration or annually in order for the AHS to be able to give them these Hunter and Jumper Awards. Only recorded horses will show up on the USEF Year-End Awards lists. An HID (Horse Identification Number) is NOT sufficient…….sadly, several of our members, who would have done well in our awards, could not be placed because they had not recorded their horses with USEF. We hope these owners will do that recording before the next competition year so we can 1) find your horse’s show records with USEF and 2) so they will be eligible for our awards!
Also we noticed that several members, who do have AHS horses in our awards lists, also have other Hanoverians, most likely imported horses, which they have not transferred to our registry. Until these imported horses have been transferred to the AHS registry, we cannot recognize them for our awards. This is a one-time process, for a small fee, that is easily and quickly done with the AHS Central Office staff. It does not change any of your papers/passport from Germany – they are just added to our registry since they now reside in the U.S.! We encourage all of our members who have imported Hanoverians to call the office and get them transferred so we can look for them in our awards lists also!
A final note: the “AHS Performance Awards Application for Hunters, Hunter Breeding and Eventing horses”, is very important to us to use in finding your horses in these competitions. By filling it out and sending it back to the Central Office, we will know what divisions you are showing in and what your horse’s show name is – as many of you do not use their papered names. This form is included with your yearly membership renewal, is also on the AHS website for easy downloading, and is in the AHS magazine several times a year. Without this form, we do not know where to look for your Hanoverian in USEF’s long and extensive lists – please fill them out and send them to the office when you join or renew each year—or during the year as you compete. We want to be able to find all of our members who are out there showing in Hunters and Jumpers…….give us a hand by using our Awards Form!
Photos of the top horse in each division will be added as they are received for the Spring 2008 Yearbook issue of The American Hanoverian. Please forward your photos (glossy prints or high resolution digital files, *tif, *eps, *jpg (900 x 1200 pixels minimum on CD, DVD or Zip) to the AHS Publications Editor at 3588 Belfry Road, Northampton, PA 18067. E-mail single digital files to sandy@unbridledcreative.com. Photos must be received by 2/20. All professional photos must include the photographer's name and a release for publication. Include a self adressed, stamped envelope if you would like your photo/disc returned.
