        <description>During its teleconference meeting of April 9, the board of directors of the American Hanoverian Society accepted an important revision to the ongoing procedure for studbook revisions and consequent pedigree upgrades. This revision concerns Thoroughbred, Arabian and Anglo-Arabian mares previously entered into AHS&#39;s breeding program. The balance of this notice refers to Thoroughbreds but applies to Arabian and Anglo-Arabian mares as well.</description>

A member will first apply to be inspected and listed in one or more of the current categories and checklists using the form posted above. The list of categories and checklists will be further developed over time. A current non-AHS member would be required to join as either an Associate or Active member and may do so by checking by the appropriate box on the Hanoverian Training Identification Application.</description>

        <description>In a open letter (January 19th, 2008) to Arabian and Shagya breeders all over the world Tamas Rombauer, past director the Hungarian Arabian State Stud of Babolna, announced that he was withdrawn from his position as it director. He mentioned that the horses would be placed in to conservatorship of private breeders, basically disbanded.</description>

        <description>Friday, August 3 marked Day 1 of this year&amp;#8217;s 100-Day Stallion Performance Test. The testing is based at John and Janet&amp;#8217;s showplace facility in Batavia, Ohio, located just off the beltline that encircles Cincinnati. The Training Leader is Helmut Schrant, ably assisted by a team of highly qualified riders and grooms from Germany. The testing is run by a company known as Sporthorse Stallion Testing, LLC, owned equally by the American Hanoverian Society and International Sporthorse Registry/Oldenburg N.A. and jointly managed by Ekkehard Brysch from ISR and our own AHS President, Doug Leatherdale.</description>
