ASSOCIATIONS UNDERWRITERS, INC PREMIUM AWARDS FOR MAHB (Mid-Atlantic Hanoverian Breeders Club, Inc.) BRED HORSES.
A) This Special Award consists of a cash prize of $1000 for the Highest Placing, Hanoverian-papered Young Horse, bred by an Active Member of the Mid-Atlantic Hanoverian Breeders Club, Inc. (MAHB) the year in which the winning horse was foaled (showing on the Tuesday of the Breed Show).
The Prize to be split equally ($500 each) to the horse’s owner (at the time of showing) and the Breeder. If owner and breeder are the same at the time of placing, then the ENTIRE cash award ($1,000) goes to the owner/breeder.
- The horse must have been bred by someone who was an active MAHB member in the year of the horse’s birth. That person may not necessarily be a MAHB member at the time of the show, but must be listed on the papers as the breeder of the horse. The Hanoverian-papered horse may be sired by a stallion standing in North America, or by a European stallion; (i.e. imported in utero, or by a frozen semen insemination, or born in Germany and imported—as long as the breeder listed on the horse’s papers was a MAHB member at the time of the horse’s birth and registration).
- The current owner does NOT have to be a MAHB member.
- Highest Placing is defined as the horse that goes the farthest up the Championship ladder that day; or if no eligible horse is in the championship rounds, it should be the highest placing horse in the Open Young Horse In-Hand classes. (The winner of this award is NOT necessarily the highest SCORING horse.
- The eligible horses must have been shown in the Open In Hand classes—Weanling through Three Year Olds—Colts/Geldings or Fillies, on the first DAD show day. The USDF Regional Finals Classes will NOT count for this award, nor will under saddle, group classes, or IBC classes.
