The American Hanoverian Society offers several forms of membership. All memberships are valid for the calendar year (not anniversary year). Membership in the American Hanoverian Society, Inc. provides discounted fees for services such as recording of German Hanoverians, Transfers of Ownership, etc., provided by the Society.
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
ACTIVE: Required for those breeding Hanoverians, registering foals, presenting mares or stallions at Inspection or for mares registered in a section of the studbook. Active members receive the AHS quarterly magazine, Stallion Directory, and English translation of German publication. Active members are eligible for all Awards programs and are eligible to vote on Society matters.
DUES: Active Member $80.00
ASSOCIATE: Recommended for those primarily showing (not breeding) their Hanoverians. Associate members receive the AHS quarterly magazine and English translation of German publication. Associate members are eligible for all Awards Programs. Associate members may purchase a Stallion Directory at a reduced price.
DUES: Associate Member $55.00
LIFE: Receive all benefits of Active Membership, but do not pay personal dues yearly. Life members must still pay any horse dues for breeding animals yearly.
DUES: Life Member $800.00
JUNIOR: For youths under the age of 21 as of January 1st of the current year. Junior members receive the same benefits as Associate Members.
DUES: Junior Member $25.00
CANADIAN ASSOCIATE: Receive the AHS quarterly magazine and are eligible to participate in the Awards Program.
DUES: Canadian Associate Member $55.00
FORMS OF RECORDED OWNERSHIP
The American Hanoverian Society recognizes several forms of recorded ownership: Individual, Joint (two related individuals), Partnership (two or more unrelated individuals), and Corporate (farm or business). Consider the form of ownership that best applies to your situation at the time of recording, and make your application for membership exactly as you wish it to appear on the horse’s papers.
BYLAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS
All persons doing business with the AHS are subject to the Bylaws, Breeding Rules and Regulations, and all procedural policies adopted by the society. These may change from time to time, so all persons are advised to check with the Society for current information. All fees are subject to change. Effective October 1, 1999.
